Unfortunately, Timothy Scott is no longer with us. He went up to the Heaviside Layer, almost twelve years ago. He was born on September 15,1955. By the time he was eleven, he was already acting. He was in several movies, including Footloose, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and Annie. He starred in several plays on Broadway, also, including A Chorus Line, and, of course, Cats, as our beloved Mr. Mistoffelees.
He sang "Mungojerrie and Rumpelteazer", a _very_ hard number _SOLO_, and _danced_ during it, to boot. It is today sang and danced by two people, and it leaves them _both_ breathless. Imagine what it must have been like for _him!_ Especially being sick. On February 24, 1988, Timothy Scott left us. He died of A.I.D.S. To this day, nearly twelve years later, he has not been forgotten. He even has a movie credit, from that year. Timothy Scott sang, acted, and danced his wonderful heart out, right up until the end. He is a true hero. He deserves more recognition than he gets.
Hopefully, he is in the Heaviside Layer, watching down on the world, while he performs for the Everlasting Cat. May he rest in peace. Sadly, he is not the only original Broadway cast member of Cats to leave us, due to A.I.D.S. The list goes on, and includes Reed Jones and Stephen Gelfer.
